Are you a seasoned RF technician with a passion for precision and problem-solving? CPI is seeking an RF Engineering Technician III to join our high-performance team. In this critical role, you’ll lead hands-on RF testing, troubleshooting, and hardware fabrication—playing an essential part in cutting-edge SatCom Antenna projects. Must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered.

Base pay range

$32.00/hr - $37.50/hr

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain advanced RF and antenna test facilities, ensuring reliability and accuracy in critical testing environments
  • Author RF test procedures, collect and analyze RF test data, and produce clear, actionable technical reports for engineering and quality teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management to define and implement robust test strategies
  • Perform diverse equipment and process operations, applying advanced skills across electrical, software, and manufacturing domains
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and diagnose equipment, components, devices, and systems to meet high technical standards
  • Modify and debug tools and equipment, building from detailed drawings and schematics to support engineering prototyping and production needs
  • Document and conduct experiments under the guidance of technical leadership to refine designs and improve product functionality
  • Analyze test data to identify cause-effect relationships, then recommend and help implement process improvements and corrective actions
  • Support prototype development, including testing, adjusting, and assembling electromechanical systems, RF circuits, and specialized test apparatus
  • Independently conduct RF tests both in a controlled lab setting and out on the test range using advanced RF instrumentation
  • Build, troubleshoot, and repair electronic or electromechanical systems with a focus on feeds, modules, and mission-critical hardware
  • Adjust and maintain RF and electronic systems based on schematics and engineering instructions
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to keep testing facilities and production hardware in peak operational condition

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in RF systems and production environments
  • RF and controls expertise across a variety of applications
  • Demonstrated experience using spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, VNAs, and other RF test equipment
  • Proficiency in soldering and the ability to meet J-STD certification standards (soldering test required during interview)
  • Strong eye-hand coordination with the ability to work precisely and efficiently
  • Proven success working in cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations
  • Ability to fabricate basic hardware for testing and production needs
  • Solid understanding of computer systems and interfaces used in test environments
  • Comfort operating under general supervision, with a clear understanding of when detailed guidance is needed
  • Capability to guide or mentor team members performing similar duties
  • Familiarity with military communications and related technologies; other industry experience will also be considered
  • Ability to operate a wide range of testing equipment and follow computer-based instructions
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to interpret schematics accurately
  • Skilled in using technical tools and equipment essential to RF production and testing workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience considered a bonus
  • Familiarity with antenna testing methodologies and hands-on experience with RF system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Trade certification in a related field preferred
  • Other Must-Haves: Ability to lift 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and reaching
