Overview
Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer 3 (24225) - COBRA role at Mission Technologies, a division of HII. This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.
HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats. Our capabilities in cybersecurity, network architecture, reverse engineering, software and hardware development uniquely enable us to support sensitive missions for the U.S. military and federal agency partners.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes and develops wireless telecommunications capabilities for multi-domain operations to maintain effective C2.
- Designs and builds custom applications. Designs, plans, establishes, and optimizes wireless networks.
- Assesses integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) components to make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.
- Provides technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch.
- Designs and validates RF link performance, quality, and reliability.
- Creates manuals and support documentation.
- Develops software for wireless technology.
- Optimizes existing network by adjusting radio network parameters, adding/deleting of neighbors and recommending possible solutions to hardware problems.
- Monitors and analyzes statistical and drive test data to improve system performance indicators such as dropped calls, blocked calls, origination failures, and handoff features.
- Supports customers in the development, acquisition, and sustainment activities of complex RF systems for Communications, Radar, and Electronic Warfare.
- Participates in working groups, including collaboration between senior leaders, Authorizing Officials (AO), security control assessors, and various Mission Partner organizations.
- Serves as primary advisor to make recommendations on adjudicating weaknesses or vulnerabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance at the time of application.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in defense or intelligence environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Security+, PMP).
