Overview

Adams Publishing Group of Southern Wisconsin is seeking a part-time general assignment news reporter to help cover stories in our weekly newspapers. Our newspapers serve Waunakee, DeForest, Sun Prairie, Monona, Cottage Grove, McFarland, Cambridge, Deerfield, Waterloo, Marshall and Lake Mills. The workplace would be split between Lake Mills and Waunakee.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative self-starter with proven skill at cleanly and quickly turning stories, who can contribute to our local and broader southern Wisconsin efforts.
• Build relationships with sources, peers and mentors; grab readers with well-crafted words; and dig beyond the surface in reporting.
• Understand the importance of digital as the future of the industry, how to effectively use social media, and how modern subscribers consume news.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has a journalism degree and newspaper experience.
• Candidates understand the importance of digital as the future of the industry, how to effectively use social media, and how modern subscribers consume news.
• A can-do attitude and a desire to expand your skills.
