Position: Wedding Design Studio Manager – Detroit
Department: Wedding + Event Design
Location: Detroit
Report to: Madison Lee
Full-Time: 40+ hours per week
Proposed schedule: Tuesday - Saturday - weekends, peak seasons and holidays
Proposed Hours: 8 AM – 4 PM
Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 plus bonus

The Wedding Design Studio Manager is responsible for executing and overseeing the day-to-day flow of the design studio. This role requires a dependable, self-directed individual who leads by example, maintains a high standard of design quality, and ensures the wedding design studio runs smoothly. The perfect candidate would be a thorough communicator who can lead the team to take the Wedding Sales team visions from paper to reality seamlessly.

Responsibilities
- Studio Management: Wedding design assignments prepared before designers shifts start; create the week’s production plan; work closely with the processing team to know what’s incoming, quality issues, and what to prioritize when processing; ensure design floor is clean, organized, and stocked; replenish and reorder tools and supplies; oversee supply inventory (clippers, gloves, rubber bands, etc.).
- Production Oversight and Communication: Manage production of a large volume of high-quality wedding designs; approve quality and design of all perishable wedding products before they are moved to the cooler; support newer designers by checking work at key stages and offering feedback; meet weekly with Sales Consultants and Producers to discuss design aesthetics; respond quickly to last-minute design changes or feedback; navigate inventory and recipe software; monitor design budget and scheduling; maintain a professional, kind, and supportive studio presence; communicate with management about missing product, workflow issues, and staffing concerns; collaborate with broader teams; flexibility to lend a hand to other departments as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a wedding/event design leadership role
- Excellent communication skills and a positive demeanor
- Leadership skills in a team-based environment
- Knowledge of flowers, design techniques, and industry trends
- Ability to work peak season weekends and key floral holidays
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with quick client turnaround
- Ability to manage urgency with last-minute changes to orders
