Overview

KTVT-TV, the CBS owned and operated station in Dallas-Fort Worth, is seeking a Meteorologist with experience in a severe weather market. The ideal candidate must have superior forecasting and storytelling skills, and the ability to produce easy-to-understand visuals, maps, and graphics to communicate the weather story every day on air, online, and on social media platforms.

Responsibilities

• Produce weather content and work with a team of meteorologists; implement station strategy. Write and prepare forecasts; produce graphics to tell the weather story across multiple platforms, with a strong social media presence. Periodically write and report weather-related content for newscasts.
• Provide continuous live severe weather coverage across all programs.
• Write daily weather blogs and post weather content on social media platforms.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree or equivalent experience in Meteorology or Earth Sciences preferred.
• On-air weather casting experience within a TV station.
• Strong writing skills for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Proficient in weather graphics production.
• Ability to live field report and write packages.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
• At least 5 years of experience on-air in weather casting and weather producing preferred.
• Ability to shoot and edit video preferred.
• WSI weather system knowledge and ability to employ all functions on multiple platforms preferred.
