Role Overview

You’ll spend ≈80 % of your time editing & pre-production and ≈20 % filming on set, reporting directly to our founder. From polishing a brand film in DaVinci Resolve to running camera on location, you’ll help us shape stories that matter—while keeping our small team agile and our clients impressed.

Location: Canton, Georgia

Start: Targeting August 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full post pipeline in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro—assembly, color, sound sweetening, delivery


• Craft narrative flow and pacing that drives emotion and clarity


• Add motion graphics/VFX in After Effects (huge plus)


• Maintain rock-solid file management and backup discipline


• Build shot lists, storyboards, and gear plans that honor creative briefs


• Collaborate with director/producer to align vision, schedule, and resources


• Prep cameras, media, and lighting for efficient shoot days

Production (select shoots)

• Operate cinema cameras (Sony FX6 and friends) in both run-and-gun and larger-crew environments


• Assist with lighting, audio, and on-set problem-solving


• Represent Porchlight professionally when interacting with clients on set

What Sets You Up for Success

Must-haves

• 2-3+ years senior level editing experience


• Portfolio/reel demonstrating cinematic storytelling


• Proficiency in Davinci Resolve or Premiere Pro


• Comfortable running cinema cameras


• Ability to self-manage in a hybrid environment

Nice-to-haves

• After effects wizardry


• DP experience on sets


• Gear: Company MacBook Pro (if you don’t already own a comparable setup)
