Overview
Position Overview: We are seeking a Technical Writer / Editor to write-up and format existing and new documents, processes, and procedures for an IT ServiceNow implementation project. This will include copying, editing and creating troubleshooting resource documents, guides and articles to go into Service Now once it is implemented. This role works in conjunction with the IT Manager and ServiceNow team. This is a temporary position designed to support the transition and organization of existing knowledge content into the ServiceNow Knowledge Base.
Responsibilities
- Content Preparation: Take existing knowledge content from various sources and prepare it for submission into the ServiceNow Knowledge Base, including grammar, spelling and layout considerations.
- Data Migration: Move approved content, ensuring accuracy and consistency during the transfer process.
- Tagging and Taxonomy: Apply basic tagging and taxonomy principles to categorize and organize content effectively.
- Style Consistency: Update Word documents to maintain a consistent style and format, ensuring all content is correctly formatted and accessible to approved users.
- Quality Assurance: Review and edit all content to ensure proper spelling, grammar, layout, clarity, accuracy, and relevance before submission.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in English, Communications, IT or a related field involving writing & editing
- 2-6 years of Technical Writing & Editing background
- Must have extremely strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with knowledge management systems, and experience with ServiceNow is a plus
- Familiarity with Confluence and other content management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic document formatting and strong spelling and grammar skills and ability to utilize various grammar tools (i.e. Grammarly, Copilot, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tagging and taxonomy in a knowledge management context.
- Previous experience in an IT role or knowledge management projects.
Pay
$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
