As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys — all from the comfort of your home.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students using the Live Learning Platform.
- Accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever you’re available.
- Deliver personalized instruction and adapt to different learning styles.
- Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
- Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
- Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
Platform, Pay & Logistics
- Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects; you can earn up to $40/hour with long-term student relationships.
- Get paid up to twice per week; we handle payments.
- We handle the logistics—you invoice for your tutoring sessions and we pay you.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Expertise in Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
- Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
