Overview
The Interactive Producer collaborates with various teams, including Project Managers, developers, designers, and content developers, to create and maintain interactive exhibits. Their responsibilities span the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept development, research, and scheduling to ensuring accessibility, usability, and compliance with standards. They are also responsible for generating and reviewing content goals, managing revisions, conducting quality control, and leading production teams to deliver high-quality interactive media.
An ideal candidate will possess cross-disciplinary production experience, strong project management and leadership skills, and a user-centered design approach with audience awareness. They should demonstrate technical literacy and a collaborative spirit, along with creative collaboration and content sensitivity. Essential qualifications also include effective client and stakeholder communication, experience working with fabricators or AV integrators, and a passion for public storytelling, education, and social impact through design.
This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring 2+ days in our Watertown, MA office per week, and occasional project travel.
We are offering a starting salary range of $72,000- 80,000, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Project Managers to develop and maintain interactive exhibit schedules and assemble project teams.
- Researches and shares visitor/audience data and physical environment details with the interactive team.
- Partners with the client and Project Manager to establish accessibility and updatability approaches for interactive media, coordinating with developers as needed.
- Generates and reviews educational, experiential, and content goals for interactive media, ensuring approaches align with these goals.
- Develops ideas, precedents, sketches, and experiences for interactive media.
- Coordinates with the technology and/or development team to determine optimal form-factors and anticipated experience lengths, collaborating with clients/content developers to right-size content load.
- Reviews/edits text for user experience, information hierarchy, and usability.
- Sketches and/or wireframes selected interactive media pieces.
- Determines prototyping/testing needs and timing.
- Collaborates with designers to ensure the overall 'look and feel' meets user experience goals, usability, and consistency across all interactive media pieces.
- Reviews all interactive media to ensure compliance with minimum type-size, contrast, open-captioning, ergonomic, and reach height standards.
- Collaborates with developers to ensure optimal interface approaches, accounting for all user scenarios, including error-handling, and coordinating updatability with interface design (content/data, back-end to on-screen graphics).
- Sets up, tests, and evaluates scale-tests/prototypes as needed with team members and/or user testers.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure clear communication of intent and provide necessary resources for efficient production of interactive media.
- Review interactive media with the team to maintain high-quality structural and visual design and consistency.
- Participate in client meetings and disseminate information to the internal team as required.
- Lead content developers, video producers, writers, animators, and designers through the production pipeline to ensure timely completion of high-quality work.
- Track and manage revisions for all interactive media, performing quality control to ensure revisions are completed as intended.
- Co-present media with the Project Manager at client screenings.
- Contribute to the manual as needed.
- Work with Project Manager and developers to triage bug fixes post-production.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as interactive media, digital media production, communications, design or computer science
- 3–5+ years of experience in interactive media production, digital content development, or related fields
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g., project managers, designers, developers, content teams)
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling and resource allocation
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Comfortable translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Skilled in concept development, content strategy, and revision management
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control
- Knowledge of digital production tools and workflows (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, project management software like Asana, Trello, or Jira)
- Understanding of interactive design principles, including UX/UI best practices
- Experience ensuring accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG compliance)
- Ability to manage QA processes, testing, and debugging
