Senior Interior Designer, Education Market
DLR Group is an integrated design firm focused on elevating the human experience through design. This role is part of our K-12 Education Studio, which works with schools across the country to create next-generation learning environments that support well-being and educational outcomes.
What You Will Do
Collaborate as a design team member across all phases of the design process.
Lead project design efforts, manage client interactions, and present concepts.
Mentor younger staff and foster a collaborative, respectful, and learning-focused environment.
Set vision and direction for design concepts, material palettes, reviews, and development feedback.
Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts.
Demonstrate strong creative design and drawing skills, with capacity for conceptual thinking and 3D design/modeling.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or equivalent.
10+ years of commercial design experience with expertise in Education (K-12 or Higher Ed).
Proficiency with Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency with SketchUp and some 3D rendering software.
Ability to work independently and within a cross-disciplinary team across multiple offices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; enthusiastic team player.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional NCIDQ Certification.
Industry involvement in relevant market sector organizations.
Compensation and Benefits Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off. We offer a 401(k) plan, employee stock ownership, and bonus opportunities. Compensation is based on location, experience, and skills. The suggested pay range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 USD.
