Job Title: WBBM Newsradio Full-Time AM Drive Traffic Producer Department: Programming Reporting To: Brand Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Chicago, IL Work Arrangement: On-Site Pay: $45,951/Yr Note: Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, location, and internal/external equity. Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and interpret traffic data from multiple sources including DOT feeds, scanners, mapping software, and listener tips. Produce concise, accurate, and informative traffic copy for anchors and newscasts under deadline pressure. Monitor and update breaking traffic incidents, construction updates, and delays in real time. Coordinate with newsroom staff, anchors, and producers to ensure accurate coverage of major traffic events. Maintain relationships with external partners (transportation officials, emergency responders, etc.) to stay informed on traffic developments. Contribute to digital platforms and social media with traffic updates when needed. The position reports to the Brand Manager/News Director or other manager as designated. Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of newsroom experience in a large or major market radio station. Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and quickly synthesize information from multiple sources. Excellent writing and editing skills, with sharp attention to detail and precision. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Familiarity with traffic reporting tools, mapping software, and newsroom systems preferred. Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned. What We Offer
