Trade Marketing at AbbVie has evolved from an operational, tactic-focused role for select products to developing complex pharmacy and distribution strategies across the full portfolio in specialty and retail channels. A key driver is the changing needs of stakeholders in the specialty pharmacy channel, where AbbVie has a footprint of high‑value brands including Botox and treatments for Parkinson’s disease, as well as higher-cost, payer-managed medications typically processed through retail pharmacy in Migraine, Psychiatry, and Eye Care. These medications are used to treat complex, chronic conditions, and require special storage, handling and administration, with coordination among Payers, healthcare professionals, and patient education, monitoring, and management. The expectations of pharmacies in the evolving healthcare ecosystem are changing as new technologies drive transformation. The Associate Director, Trade Strategy and Marketing Neuroscience and Eye Care, will partner with key pharmacy and channel stakeholders to optimize the patient experience and grow AbbVie’s business now and in the future. Patient needs and expectations at the pharmacy are evolving, with demand for convenient, digital capabilities and higher-touch clinical support models. These developments drive AbbVie to define future specialty and retail pharmacy value propositions and identify channel stakeholders to partner with to navigate this complex environment. The Associate Director, Trade Strategy and Marketing Neuroscience and Eye Care is responsible for identifying and assessing business opportunities in the fast-evolving specialty pharmacy and distribution channel and for developing and implementing initiatives to partner with pharmacy and wholesaler stakeholders to support patient onboarding and adherence to AbbVie products. This role supports a combination of specialty and retail products across the portfolio, including Botox, Rx Eye Care and new product launches, and requires a strong understanding of brand strategy and cross-functional collaboration (internally and externally). With a strategic mindset and an eye for innovation, the Associate Director should be well equipped with pharmacy and distribution channel knowledge to effectively navigate trade complexities and act as an advisor and consultant to the Integrated Brand Teams they support. Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of brand-specific Trade strategies with specialty and/or retail pharmacies to ensure medication access and enhance the overall patient experience. Identify new, strategic channel partners and programs to innovate and meet evolving patient needs in the pharmacy channel. Execute launch excellence in the Trade channel by contributing to the launch planning process and partnering with diverse stakeholders to align brand go-to-market strategies and ensure seamless on-time, on-market supply for new product launches. Serve as the Trade lead in collaboration with Brand and cross-functional partners to drive initiatives; manage through product supply disruption across the portfolio as needed. Lead the strategic development and execution of brand value propositions for Trade across multiple products and lifecycle stages, collaborating with Brand teams and cross-functional partners. Lead the development and creation of high-impact promotional materials for the Pharmacy.
