Director of Development and Communications - Calumet Lutheran Ministries | Freedom, NH Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt | Senior Leadership | Travel Required Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr Calumet Lutheran Ministries is seeking a mission-driven Director of Development and Communications to lead fundraising and communications efforts and to support outdoor ministry and faith formation. Lead all aspects of development strategy, donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and gift tracking. Share Calumet’s story in compelling ways across print, digital, and in-person platforms. Cultivate strong relationships with donors, congregations, and community partners. Oversee and implement marketing and social media strategies. Engage in outreach visits to congregations, alumni and other partner ministries to grow engagement. Supervise and support two staff members in advancement and communications. Collaborate with staff on program development, including implementation and facilitation. Serve as Calumet’s lead public-facing representative for development and communications efforts. Understand and support the mission, values, and policies of Calumet Lutheran Ministries. Actively work to build a culture that promotes inclusion and belonging, a growth mindset for staff and campers, nurtures joy, and cultivates an understanding of our interconnectedness. What We’re Looking For
5+ years
of success in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and/or communications preferred. A bachelor’s degree (required); advanced training in fundraising or communications (preferred). A proven track record in raising contributions and leading donor-centered strategies. Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills. Experience with digital and social media platforms and strategy. Strong organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills. A commitment to the Christian faith, preferably within a Lutheran context. Willingness and ability to travel. A regular in-person presence at camp to support collaboration with staff, volunteers, and community members. Physical Requirements
Must be able to navigate long distances across Calumet’s large, outdoor campground to engage with guests, attend programs, or support events. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed for program and event support. Must be able to assist campers, guests, and staff in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury). The normal work week regularly includes working Friday–Sunday. Valid Driver’s License Ability to pass state and national background checks How to Apply
