Job Summary Responsibilities include operating as a strategic and self-directed client counselor, overseeing projects and initiatives for clients, and managing day-to-day communications with team members. Build and manage relationships with the existing client base; serve as daily client contact and client lead, when appropriate, across PR, communications, reputation management, and other projects as assigned. Ensure the team is proactive and timely, meeting identified client needs, anticipating upcoming deliverables, and taking accountability for proper execution. Ensure team members write effectively with attention to detail. Play a major role in researching, planning, and developing comprehensive client campaigns and strategies related to PR, marketing, communications, and social media. Articulate insights from social and conversational trends and data, organizing information into strategic implications and recommendations. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, trend spotter, and creative brainstormer who isn’t afraid to share ideas and opinions. Responsibilities Operate as strategic, self-directed client counselor; oversee projects and day-to-day communications among team members Build and manage relationships with the client base; serve as daily client contact and client lead across PR, communications, reputation management, and other projects Ensure team is proactive, timely, and accountable for proper execution Ensure team members write effectively with attention to detail Assist in research, planning, and development of comprehensive client campaigns related to PR, marketing, communications, and social media Articulate insights from social trends and data; translate observations into strategic recommendations Contribute as a strong writer and creative brainstormer who shares ideas and opinions Required Qualifications Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA Must know AP Style Ability to edit long documents Had a B or better in completed COMM courses Had an A in COMM 4451 Classified as a junior (60-89 hours) or senior (90 hours or more) Portfolio of best work from COMM 4451, other class projects, organizations, or internships Preferred Qualifications Mass Communications major with public relations concentration Established connections with the firm and Faculty Advisor Experience leading and/or managing a team through university organizations Self-motivated with strong organizational skills High level of professionalism with effective client communication Advanced knowledge of public relations campaigns, communication plans, social media, and internet culture Ability to conduct market research and present reports Basic design understanding with Canva Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking Commitment and professionalism to the firm and its activities Strong multitasking ability Required Documents to Attach Please attach any related sample work from class or internships Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities AP Style knowledge Detail-oriented with editing skills Some knowledge of applying AP Style Experience with creating documents on Google Drive Advanced PR writing skills Basic design skills using Canva Strategic-thinking skills EEO and Employment Information The University of West Georgia is an equal employment, equal access, and equal educational opportunity, and affirmative action institution.
