Overview

Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for multiple Athletics Public Address Announcer positions. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the NCAA-DI. Responsibilities

Inform attendees at athletic contests of pertinent information during events. Perform commercial reads throughout games or events. Annunciate clearly and project to a large crowd; understand the event, rules, and appropriate times to announce. Coordinate with coaching staffs to collect starters prior to the game and proof scripts for accuracy. Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of given sports rules and regulations. Ability to learn specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules. Ability to interact with assigned game officials, Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff during events. Ability to observe and react to on-field/on-court events to accurately announce information. Excellent speaking voice with clear projection and diction; ability to read announcements timely.
