Overview
The Communications Lead provides oversight and direction for all church-wide communications at Crossroads. This role ensures that messaging across all platforms reflects the mission, culture, and values of our church in a clear and consistent way. The Communications Lead oversees the communications team and works closely with ministry and campus leaders to support communication needs, coordinate content, and maintain alignment across departments. This position requires strong leadership, thoughtful planning, and the ability to guide both the creative and logistical aspects of communication. Areas of Responsibility
Department Leadership & Team Development: Provide direction, support, and coaching to the Communications Team (social, design, video, digital media, coordinators). Foster a healthy, collaborative team culture that values both strategy and storytelling. Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and implement communication strategies that support the overall mission of Crossroads Church. Translate church-wide goals into measurable and effective communication plans. Creative Direction & Brand Oversight: Oversee the creative execution of major campaigns, weekend series, and event branding. Ensure all communication materials are on-brand and executed with clarity and excellence. Participate in brainstorming sessions, creative meetings, and content planning. Project Management & Content Execution: Oversee the planning and execution of the content calendar across all channels (web, social, email, video, print, in-service). Manage timelines, project scope, and budgets for large-scale communication support. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Executive Director of Weekend Services and other key leaders to align communication with church-wide vision. Collaborate with campus teams to support localized communication needs. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Weekend Services. Qualifications & Expectations
Experience: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, design, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related leadership role (church or nonprofit experience preferred). Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of branding, digital marketing, and storytelling. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Able to think strategically, communicate clearly, and execute efficiently. Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Work Environment: Primarily indoors with occasional travel for events. Will require flexibility for extra hours during key seasons of ministry.
