Skills & Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of experience in Metal Stamping tool design, including Progressive, Transfer, and/or Draw Dies .
Proficient in 3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks .
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of automation tool design
is a plus.
Good organizational skills and oral & written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Draw changes and updates.
Plan and perform Engineering Research, Design Development or Manufacturing Engineering assignments.
Develop technical coordination with Engineering, Tool & Die Shop, and Production floor.
Design or redesign tools, jigs, dies, and fixtures to increase efficiency.
Keep records of all tool, jig, die, and fixture changes using engineering documentation practices.
Responsible for all tool, jig, die, and fixture drawings, their accuracy and completeness.
Prepare detailed tool, jig, die, and fixture drawings as assigned.
Maintain and organize drawing files for tools, jigs, dies, & fixtures in hard copy in a filing cabinet, and in electronic format, for reference.
Issue prints to other departments as requested.
Interface with management, tool room, and production personnel.
Stay up to date on latest Tool & Die Design and production developments.
May lead Continuous Improvement efforts.
Reissue updated drawings and obtain appropriate signatures upon delivery.
Attend in-house meetings as necessary.
Participate in ongoing staff development exercises, and perform other related duties and assignments as necessary.
