Software Engineer, Reporting and Visualization Applications at Heartflow. Responsibilities
Develop web based applications geared towards medical visualization and reporting
Craft intuitive experiences for clinicians to interact with HeartFlow Analysis
Write tests and documentation for the features you’ve implemented
Debug production issues
Proactively raise issues and suggest improvements in retrospectives
Suggest improvements to engineering practices and processes
Help teammates grow through mentorship and close collaboration
Support a large‑scale system development effort in the medical device industry
Be a critical thinker to solve problems efficiently and pragmatically
Build strong relationships within the team and cross‑functionally
Communicate efficiently with other teams
Apply technical innovation, problem solving, and leadership skills
Contribute to planning, estimation and requirements management
Skills & Qualifications
Experience with web based UI frameworks, such as Vue.js
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience with architectural patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM)
Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines
Comfortable refining requirements via iterative prototyping and development
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with cloud-based infrastructures (Amazon Web Services or equivalent)
Educational Requirements & Work Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years of relevant industry experience in software
Experience shipping and maintaining commercial mobile and web applications
Bonus Points
Experience with medical applications or regulated industries
Experience building web based visualization or reporting applications
Experience with Python
Compensation & Benefits A reasonable base salary range is approximately $130,000 to $200,000 (San Francisco Bay Area), plus cash bonus and equity.
