Drainage Designer

In the role of Drainage Designer, we'll count on you to: Assist the Senior Engineer(s) with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation. Provide project engineering with a focus on drainage design for transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region. Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling; conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design; collect, assimilate, and present data in reports, memos and public forums; production of design calculations and technical reports; and lead preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities, and other hydraulic structures. Work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task. Will be involved in highway and rail/transit drainage design and plans production for Caltrans and Municipal clients, drainage analysis and documentation, and stormwater management design & permitting. Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage. Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures. Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables. Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects. Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. 6 years experience is preferred. Professional Engineer license. Previous work experience with Caltrans projects (studies and design) is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Proficient with hydrology and hydraulic software such as HydroWIN, WSPG and Bentley Flowmaster. Required Qualifications
