Overview
Will be designing distribution routes for an Engineering and Construction Services Contractor. They are NOT a licensed Engineer. Beginning with an engineered scope of work, our technicians take ownership of your project from start to finish. Field verification of existing facilities, design of new facilities to be placed, customer communications, permitting, entry in utility’s work management system, CAD-produced drawings, staking, and a job packet for construction are just some of the duties performed for our utility partners. Overhead and Underground Rebuilds Overhead to Underground Conversions Voltage Conversions Substation Feeder Exits Red-tagged Pole Replacements Design: pole inspection group inspects the poles and red tags them if they need to be replaced. every year a batch of poles comes over to design the pole replacements for.
Responsibilities
Design distribution routes for an Engineering and Construction Services Contractor; perform field verification of existing facilities; design new facilities; communicate with customers; coordinate permitting; enter data in utility work management system; create CAD-produced drawings; staking; assemble a job packet for construction.
Support overhead and underground rebuilds, voltage conversions, substations, and feeder exits; perform red-tagged pole replacements; conduct pole inspections and design replacements as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of Utility Distribution Design experience (electric preferred; gas also considered).
Local to WI or Eastern MN for 1-2 days/week field work.
Distribution design, electric, SAP, fiber, telecommunication, gas.
Top Skills: distribution design, electric.
Experience with Xcel Energy or similar utility experience preferred.
