Adecco Creative and Marketing partnered with a family owned roofing company to hire an instructional designer.

Position Title: Instructional Designer (Remote)

Location: Hybrid – Remote

Assignment Length: 3–6 Months

Pay Rate: $30–$38.71/hr

Position Overview:

Seeking a skilled Mid-Level Instructional Designer to lead the development of custom instructor-led training programs. This role focuses on designing content for field roles within a commercial roofing environment, using adult learning principles and collaborating closely with subject matter experts (SMEs). The ideal candidate will be experienced in curriculum design, facilitation strategies, and building scalable learning solutions for a non-degreed workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design & Development

  • Lead end-to-end design of instructor-led training programs, including needs analysis, development, and evaluation.
  • Create facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentation decks, job aids, and assessments.
  • Design career roadmap training for five key field roles, culminating in the Superintendent level.
  • Apply adult learning theory and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) for English and Spanish-speaking audiences.
  • Adapt content for diverse learning styles and workplace environments.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with SMEs to translate technical content into engaging learning materials.
  • Recommend strategies for continuous learning, including Communities of Practice (CoPs), coaching, mentoring, and field training.
  • Explore mobile, AR/VR, and other technologies to enhance skill development.

Quality & Standards

  • Ensure training materials meet instructional, brand, and compliance standards.
  • Integrate interactive methods such as group discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises.
  • Write learning objectives and assessments; refine programs based on feedback.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field.
  • Experience designing custom instructor-led training in a mid-sized company.
  • Proven success managing training projects from concept to delivery.

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick).
  • Strong writing and design skills for training guides and course materials.
  • Strategic thinker with experience building continuous learning cultures.
  • Proficient in Camtasia and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in L&D within construction, manufacturing, or skilled trades.
  • Familiarity with rapid content development and adaptability to feedback.
  • Experience with skills-based training and building job role learning paths.

Fine print:

This is a W2 position, not 1099 or C2C.
