Responsibilities
- Work cohesively with the sales teams and General Managers at each hotel to assist them in capturing group business in all segments and corporate transient business. Ensure sales leads through various online networks and sources are handled efficiently. Monitor visits to local businesses and ensure proper prospecting and cold calling is accomplished.
- Monitor the Sales system from various brands to ensure solicitation calls are documented and account information, contracts, correspondence, and emails are accurately captured.
- Communicate strategies for Business Travel and Group Market Segment with the teams.
- Evaluate promotional events, trade shows, community, and industry events to ensure attendance yields appropriate ROI.
- Perform duties with attention to detail and efficiency; organize, prioritize, and follow up with a sense of urgency.
- Assist with setting sales strategies to achieve property goals for rate and occupancy.
- Understand hotel operations, including room types, meeting capacities, services, features, and benefits for assigned hotels in the territory.
- Review STAR reports weekly and create action plans as necessary.
- Communicate with Revenue Management and GM to ensure pricing is appropriate and adjust selling strategies as needed.
- Prepare a detailed business plan by collaborating with property-level General Managers and Directors of Sales.
- Provide sales strategy to exceed revenue goals and ensure execution by sales teams in each market.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness; uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or GED; college-level sales/marketing classes or Business Degree preferred. 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience as a Director of Sales with multi-property experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Proficient use of Sales Pro; strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel; experience with automated accounting systems is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily indoor work environment with minimal to moderate noise levels typical of a hotel setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit more than 75% of the time; ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Must be able to make sales calls 50% of the time.
