Patco Brands is seeking a Print Production Designer with a keen eye for design to support the execution of national brands and private label products across a variety of packaging and printed touchpoints. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision in a fast-paced environment, understands how to implement design to dielines and substrates, can create press-ready print production files, and can manage multiple print workflows. You will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and external print vendors to bring concepts to life—from file prep and proofing to press checks and other support roles for the Print Production manager. Responsibilities

Prepare and take ownership of print-ready production files with precision. This includes packaging, point of sale materials, and promotional assets. Implement the approved design on dielines, distinguishing spot and process colors, applying various finishes, and using white plates to create press-ready files. Collaborate with the design team to ensure concepts translate accurately into final press-ready files. Manage relationships with internal packaging buyers (labels, cartons, capsules, etc.), sales, brand marketing managers, and external print vendors. Maintain regular communication with print vendors to track job status and ensure quality control while supporting print production managers with sample prints, press approvals, and press checks. Organize and manage archives and digital asset libraries for packaging and print-related projects for brand managers and marketing. Support consistency across multiple SKUs, product formats, and various print media (paper, film, cartons, cans, and bottles). Oversee on-site print production as needed, including preparing packaging comps for meetings and presentations, maintaining in-house printers, and organizing the archive server. Requirements

3-5 years of experience in print production at a design agency or in-house CPG environment. Deep understanding of print production processes and color management across retail packaging formats. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and related design applications. Strong knowledge of design principles, color theory, and file setup for offset litho, flexo, and digital printing on various substrates. Proven ability to manage multiple production timelines and vendor relationships. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both creative and technical partners. On-site printer experience and familiarity with file setup and proofing workflow is a plus. Experience with private label products and/or managing multi-brand assets is a plus. Knowledge of packaging structures, pallet optimization, nutritional facts, USDA and FDA regulations, and TTB regulations for packaging is a plus.
