Responsibilities
- Bring concepts to life through a range of mediums, prototypes, motion, video, high-fidelity visuals, and emerging tools including AI-driven design and prototyping platforms.
- Contribute across all phases of the design and innovation lifecycle, from discovery and ideation to prioritization, refinement, and crafting narratives that make complex ideas approachable, especially when working with intelligent systems.
- Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders (including senior leadership, tech, product, and science) to align on user needs, system capabilities, and opportunities where AI can enhance the experience.
- Work confidently in ambiguity, using both human insight and AI-assisted exploration to generate and evaluate divergent conceptsand find the signals worth going deeper on.
- Stay informed on evolving customer needs, industry shifts, and technology trendsincluding the growing role of AIto help shape design strategies that are forward-looking and grounded in real value.
- Synthesize large volumes of inputsuser research, product signals, technical constraints, and system behaviorsinto clear, meaningful, and actionable experience frameworks.
- Collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a culture of feedback and experimentation, while also working independently to move ideas from sketch to production.
- Communicate design direction, strategy, and outcomes clearly and persuasively, leveraging storytelling, visuals, andwhen relevantinteractive demos or AI-generated simulations.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of design experience
- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an available online portfolio
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
- Proven experience successfully launching AI-first or AI-powered products that solve real customer problems.
- Experience working on data-driven or intelligent products, especially those involving automation or decision support.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows, including tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, or Copilot
- Ability to explore and prototype with LLMs or intelligent agents, even at a conceptual level
- Strong storytelling skills using visual, verbal, and interactive formats
- Experience designing for trust, transparency, or human-in-the-loop systems
- Comfortable navigating technical constraints and collaborating with science or ML teams
- Passion for emerging technology and a mindset of continuous learning

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
