Corrugated Packaging Designer - Kansas City

Georgia-Pacific LLC is hiring a Corrugated Packaging Designer - Kansas City in Kansas City, MO. The Designer will work with a diverse team to provide design solutions compatible with current manufacturing capabilities and proactively identify improvements for key accounts. The position reports to the Designer Center of Excellence Leader.

Overview

This role focuses on delivering sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective packaging design solutions to customers while supporting the sales organization and total cost-effectiveness. Location is based at the Kansas City, MO plant with travel requirements as noted below.

What You Will Do

• Support regional design efforts for local and national customers
• Independently develop solutions compatible with existing manufacturing capabilities
• Collaborate within the Center of Excellence (COE) and across the Design Community
• Proactively identify and recommend improvement/optimization opportunities for customer accounts
• Manage project load while providing feedback to the COE Leader on risks and key needs
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams, Artios CAD (and other CAD tools), Tops and related software

Qualifications

• 3 or more years of experience in corrugated structural design
• Flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time

What Will Put You Ahead

• Corrugated box plant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or related field
• Working knowledge with Artios CAD

Location and Travel

Location: Kansas City, MO plant. Travel approximately 20% with potential overnight stays on occasion.
