Overview

Sr. Video Content Creator - Paid Social Ads at Golden Hippo. We’re an employee-owned, vertically-integrated builder of health & wellness brands with over 1,400 team members. We’re looking for a Senior Digital Storyteller – writer/director who will write and direct innovative video ads to run on Facebook/Instagram, YouTube and other social channels for brands that sell supplements, pet food, and beauty products directly to consumers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Write and direct video ads with the goal of selling products using a data-driven, test-and-learn approach.
• Come up with fresh and innovative concepts/angles for ads and write scripts.
• Direct actors and/or celebrity brand partners to elicit authentic and persuasive performances; formulate and ask interview questions that elicit the most compelling soundbites.
• Work with videographers to gather video assets (identify needed video cover, set up locations and direct videographers to shoot b-roll).
• Provide on-set leadership in collaboration with Production Supervisor, production team, and camera crew.
• Collaborate with editors from pre-production to delivery, including providing feedback on edits, conceiving graphics and on-screen text.
• Analyze performance data, and use data to create incremental video optimizations that scale.
• Mentor a junior Story Producer.
• Available to drive, and occasionally travel, to locations to film and gather footage and conduct interviews.

Qualifications

• Exceptional concepting, script writing and directing skills.
• Mastery of on-set creative leadership and experience directing celebrity partners and actors.
• Ability to formulate strategies to market health and wellness products in fresh, creative ways.
• Understanding of direct response marketing.
• Creative self-starter who can work independently and with teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Management and mentorship experience with evidence of success.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Writing, Film (preferred).
• 5-8 years experience writing & directing in a visual medium (required).
• 8+ years experience writing & directing in a visual medium, ideally with some advertising/marketing experience (preferred).

Salary: The base salary range is $90,000-$120,000, plus annual & monthly KPI bonus potential. This range reflects California cost of labor data and may vary by state if remote. Salary is based on experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
