Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Remote IP Network Engineer to support a telecommunications client. This role focuses on the design, deployment, and optimization of IP and transport network infrastructure, applying core engineering principles with emphasis on availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security. Responsibilities include auditing and forecasting bandwidth, capacity management, hardware and software licensing, and hosted devices, with proactive monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities
- Support the design, deployment, and optimization of IP and transport network infrastructure.
- Define, design, and implement network systems with focus on availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security.
- Audit and forecast bandwidth, manage capacity, hardware, software licensing, and hosted devices.
- Ensure optimal performance through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience with configuration of Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper routers or switches in service provider, telecommunications, or data center environments with understanding of large-scale network operations.
- Experience creating and editing network drawings using Microsoft Visio.
- Experience with Metasolv.
- Experience writing MOPs and MPLS.
- Experience with common transport technologies such as Ethernet, SONET, TDM, Fiber, Microwave, Satellite, WiFi, and cellular.
- Certifications: Cisco CCNA / CCNP; Nokia NRS I / NRS II; Brocade BCNE / BCNP; Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS.
