Job Summary/Description

WDTV is seeking a candidate regularly responsible for anchoring and producing newscasts. The selected candidate should be a newsroom leader and help with story generation. The candidate should thrive in breaking news situations and urgent/active delivery and must be flexible in the newsroom and on-air, presenting an energetic personality while delivering the news. The selected candidate must be a team player.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Anchor all P.M. newscasts, including 5, 5:30, 6, and 10 & 11
• Obtain information on and write breaking news stories for the website and the shows
• Share breaking news on Facebook and the news app

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers, producers, and co-workers
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of journalism ethics and legal issues
• Ability to meet news deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Maintain a professional appearance
