Overview

Broadcast Recording Technician II, WBUR Program & Production — Boston, MA. Responsible for on-air engineering and production of WBUR broadcast quality audio, mainly live on-air console operation (Operator on Duty for the station's live broadcast) and digital editing/mixing/recording. This position provides coverage for vacation and sick-time of other Broadcast Recording Technicians and Technical Directors, and additional support as required. You will work early and late hours, weekends and holidays as required in a flexible shift arrangement. This role also assists the Production Manager in scheduling and management of WBUR studio usage.

Responsibilities

• Operate live on-air console during WBUR broadcasts (Operator on Duty).
• Perform digital editing, mixing, and recording to produce broadcast-quality audio.
• Provide coverage for vacation and sick-time of other Broadcast Recording Technicians and Technical Directors; provide additional support as required.
• Assist the Production Manager with scheduling and management of WBUR studio usage.
• Work flexible hours, including early/late shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Training required.
• Bachelor s degree or relevant experience required.
• 1-3 years experience in related field.
• Advanced proficiency and experience with ProTools audio editing software.
• Prior audio experience with professional level mixing boards in a recording or radio environment; ability to troubleshoot signal flow and operate various audio rack gear including audio processing and codec equipment.
• Familiarity with Office 365 email/calendaring suite.
