Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

This is a remote position working in the EST time zone.

This position offers an annual salary plus full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k w/match and PTO/Vacation).

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in content strategy with a focus on marketing-driven copywriting for digital platforms, including some UX writing and content design.
  • Superior critical thinking, strategic and collaboration skills.
  • Experience managing complex content approval routing processes and revisions.
  • Experience and high comfort level with strict delivery timelines.
  • Experience soliciting requirements and facilitating project discovery.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated domain, with preference given to candidates with healthcare experience.
  • Experience working within the Agile team.
  • Exposure to user testing and A/B and/or multivariate testing.
  • Awareness of web accessibility and WCAG guidelines.
  • Experience with and commitment to plain language writing guidelines.
  • Experience incorporating SEO keywords and best practices into content.
  • Professional work samples demonstrating competence in above are required.

Description

The digital design team is looking for an experienced Content Designer/Content Strategist to help create an engaging experience for the Medicare website. In collaboration with a team of designers, content authors and product teams, you’ll assess, revise and create content that will help simplify the process for members and prospects seeking to learn more about, enroll in and access health benefits. You may also create content for providers and insurance agents and brokers using our sites.

As a senior content strategist, you’ll bring strategic thinking into everything you do and align creative with user needs and the business goals of your clients. You and your design partners will be expected to translate often complex or ambiguous business requirements into meaningful content and user experiences, so adaptability and comfort iterating are crucial qualities.

Ultimately, you’re accountable for content in the user experience, and your success will depend on a consistently high level of engagement with product management and your content strategy and design collaborators.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Execute on content strategy for the Medicare audience in support of larger organizational goals and objectives, including a seamless experience for users between products and contexts.
  • Support the assessment, creation, and maintenance of content that is consistent with UX, brand, style, voice, tone, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with other content strategists to ensure smooth processes across Digital Experience teams.
  • Collaborate with design partners and larger creative teams as needed on digital design, images, content and UX solutions.
  • Work with product management, design and research teams to source or create the right content that educates, motivates, and empowers users.
  • Provide rationale for content decisions and iterate based on feedback.
  • Help manage copy deck(s) and shepherd copy through required, rigorous review platforms.
  • Operate within Agile framework and meet biweekly sprint deadlines.

Your Background And Work Experience Should Include

  • 5+ years as a Content Strategist on digital products and services producing deliverables, especially marketing-driven copywriting; and site- and page-level messaging hierarchy and content outlines. Experience with content inventories and audits; gap analyses; IA UX research; taxonomies and tags; user journey maps; and content design is a plus.
  • 4+ years working at the enterprise level of a large organization, plus cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • 2+ years working in a highly regulated industry. Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to adapt to seasonal busy periods with higher workloads and critical deadlines.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to partner with teams and effectively present work to clients, creative leadership and marketing stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to distill complex content into clear, concise, and compelling stories.
  • A passion for language and a drive to understand unique audiences and adapt content to their needs and behaviors.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to detail; collaborative work with UX/UI designers.
  • Experience in an Agile environment; working knowledge of UX fundamentals and digital best practices.
  • Experience with plain language guidelines and SEO practices; awareness of accessibility needs and WCAG guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Microsoft 360 tools; experience with Figma, Miro, and JIRA a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising/Communications, or equivalent field. Master’s Degree is a plus.
