Position Summary
What you'll do
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; providing associate recognition; promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace; recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
- Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
- Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback (Tour-to-Teach); communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; leading change efforts; providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions; and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.
- Models exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; supporting customer service initiatives; resolving customer needs and issues; developing action plans to correct deficiencies; and leading process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and ethics; supports the company mission, values, and integrity; applies Open Door Policy in daily practices.
- Drives financial performance for the designated store area by reviewing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; ensuring merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes support sales and profit goals; developing action plans to mitigate shrink.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and location-based pay adjustments (e.g., Regional Pay Zone, Complex Structure).
Minimum Qualifications
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of CBC and firearms training may be required. For facilities that sell ammunition with state requirements, a state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
Associates will be required to attend all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership; experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
