Sign Graphics & Production Designer Job at Asl Sign Services LLC in Myrtle Beach

We are seeking a talented and creative Interior and Exterior Sign Designer with a strong proficiency in production design. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating innovative signage solutions that enhance both indoor and outdoor environments. This role requires a keen eye for aesthetics, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and production teams.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
• Work with other designers and the production director to produce final design
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Design Development:

• Create original designs for interior and exterior signage, including pylons, monuments, multi-tenant signs, directional signs, promotional displays, and architectural signs.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements, translating their ideas into effective signage solutions.

Technical Proficiency:

• Prepare production-ready files for various manufacturing processes, including CAD files for channel letter machines, CNC machines, and other signage production equipment.
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards and specifications for safety and durability.

Project Management:

• Oversee projects from concept through to completion, managing timelines and coordinating with production teams.
• Conduct site visits to assess locations and determine the best signage solutions based on environmental factors.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with marketing, branding, and architectural teams to ensure signage aligns with overall design goals and brand identity.
• Provide guidance and support to production staff during the fabrication process.

Quality Assurance:

• Review and approve prototypes and final products to ensure quality and accuracy in design and execution.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to continuously improve design processes.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sign design, with a strong portfolio showcasing interior and exterior projects.
• Proficient in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, etc.) and production technologies (CNC, channel letter production).
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques used in signage.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven graphic designing experience
• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as Corel, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadline.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to signage.
