Overview

Assistant Librarian for Electronic Resources and Systems Administrator. The role maintains all electronic library resources and the integrated library system (ILS) and supports access for students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative aspects of the ILS, including planning and implementing new ILS software, interface upgrades, and staff training on advanced ILS functions
  • Resolve technical issues related to the ILS staff client and public interface
  • Maintain electronic library resources (digital books, film collections, bibliographic databases)
  • Implement upgrades and ensure proper training for staff
  • Monitor off-campus access to electronic resources via database links and identity and access management
  • Provide technical support and liaise with vendors and academic departments to ensure access to library resources
  • Collaborate with information technology to resolve issues
  • Maintain and update databases and electronic resources on the library webpage per college policies
  • Assist at the circulation desk as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program
  • Two years academic library experience; one year in e-resources management or acquisitions
  • Knowledge of library technology principles, data systems administration, bibliographic utilities, and library software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to analyze problems and use independent judgment

Working Conditions

This position requires on-site work.

Physical Requirements

Essential functions include lifting and manual dexterity; sedentary work; occasional movement as needed. Up to 10 pounds force as needed.

Education and Experience

Master\'s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent; two years academic library experience; one year in e-resources management or acquisitions.
