What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to AP English Literature and Composition students.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Leverage the Live Learning Platform for remote instruction and student engagement.
• Use available tools (e.g., Tutor Copilot) to support instruction and save prep time.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.

What We Offer

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40/hour with longer relationships with the same student.
