Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring for High School Level American Literature.
- Personalize lessons to align with each student’s learning style and needs.
- Utilize the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform to deliver remote tutoring sessions.
- Invoicing and payments are managed by the platform; you invoice for sessions and receive payments through the platform (payout frequency may vary).
- Tap into the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and enhance teaching.
What We Look For In a Tutor
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Expertise in High School Level American Literature with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
- Priority given to candidates with tutoring experience, teaching experience, or graduate-level education.
Compensation & Schedule
- Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects; with continued sessions for the same student, pay can reach up to $40/hour.
- Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice for.
- Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
- Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
- We help match you with students suited to your teaching style and expertise.
