The Traits: The Brand Influence & Identity team seeks a creative expert who can develop big ideas and bring them to life through motion. As a motion design expert, you will push storytelling in dynamic ways while keeping strategic positioning top of mind, translating abstract concepts into compelling narrative through motion. You will solve problems proactively and contribute to the next challenge.

The Team: The Brand Expression team defines, maintains, and expands the Thunder brand. As a creative partner to Thunder departments, we provide creative solutions, language, and design support for campaigns, using central brands and visual themes to connect with fans locally and globally.

The Role: As a motion designer, you will build creative solutions in a kinetic space, creating compelling motion graphics that supplement campaigns. You are familiar with the creative process and will add narrative elements, dynamic transitions, and thoughtful compositions to support the work. You will develop ideas, brainstorm, and assist with production on multiple projects, collaborating with other designers and editors to deliver outstanding results.

In this role you will:

  • Create high-level solutions from concept through implementation on a consistent basis
  • Create storyboards, treatments, animations, and motion graphics for platforms including social media, websites, and video content
  • Animate logos, brand assets, typography, and other design elements
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and develop new concepts
  • Work within brand guidelines and design systems
  • Manage personal workflow and multiple projects
  • Seek innovative approaches to creative challenges and find unique solutions
  • Stay current with industry standards, cultural trends, and design best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent professional or military experience
  • Minimum 2 years of design or creative experience in a professional setting
  • Creatively flexible, receptive to feedback, and eager to adapt or reimagine concepts; able to conceptualize, recreate campaigns, and implement design solutions that align with brand strategies
  • Strong understanding of the creative process and how motion enhances ideas
  • Extreme eye for detail and reliability, especially under deadline pressure
  • High level communicator with ability to articulate ideas clearly
  • Extensive proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • Experience with 3D animation and software such as Cinema 4D, Maya, or Blender is a plus

Additional Information

Primary work location is the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. Schedule includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Head of Brand Identity.
