Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking a Part-Time Music Teacher to support our Early Childhood Program.

Base pay range: $21.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Description: Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking a Part-Time Music Teacher to support our Early Childhood Program.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a bachelor’s degree and experience in teaching music at either the adult or child level.

Required Shift: Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30am - 1:30pm

Compensation: $21 per hour

Responsibilities

• Design and implement music lessons that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for young children, using a variety of instruments, songs, and movement activities.
• Introduce students to fundamental music concepts such as rhythm, melody, and tempo in an age-appropriate way.
• Foster a joyful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and participation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrative staff to integrate music into the Montessori curriculum.
• Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student participation and progress.
• Set up and maintain all classroom musical instruments and materials in an organized and safe manner.
• Physical ability to work with small children, including sitting, standing, walking, and singing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience in teaching music at the adult or child level
