Qualifications
Valid California Single Subject Music Credential with an authorization to teach in grades TK-8 in a departmentalized setting.
Valid CLAD/BCLAD/EL Authorization
Candidates without a credential, who may be eligible for hire under a permit or university internship route, may apply. Include a full copy of transcript that includes Bachelor’s degree and all courses in the subject area of Music.
Valid driver’s license authorizing the use of a vehicle in the State of California
Instructional: Ability to teach and demonstrate knowledge and skills; ability to teach signing, music theory, rhythms; ability to play and teach a variety of musical/rhythm instruments; select instructional materials to achieve instructional goals and behavioral objectives; keep inventory records; use a broad repertoire of teaching strategies; achieve positive teacher/pupil relations; generate enthusiasm for learning.
Responsibilities
STUDENT MANAGEMENT: Administer group tests; participate in curriculum and development programs; support a school-wide culture of high expectations; sponsor student activities; maintain records and prepare progress reports; establish classroom discipline policy; provide additional instruction as required.
PROFESSIONAL: Maintain professional competence through district in-service activities; participate in ongoing professional growth; communicate with parents; hold parent/teacher conferences; follow district and school policies; perform related job functions.
PHYSICAL: Stand/sit for extended periods; see/read with/without aids; hear and understand speech; speak English clearly; lift up to 25 lbs to waist height (40 lbs occasionally); move throughout building.
MENTAL: Concentrate on tasks; learn quickly; meet deadlines; clear, concise communication.
SOCIAL: Interact daily with staff; maintain attendance; demonstrate understanding and patience; maintain confidentiality of student information.

SALARY: Annual entry level salary placement from $60,544 to $100,773 for a full-time position. Salary prorated based on start date, FTE, and prior experience/semester units.
