Job Description

The On-Air Coordinator for Fox Broadcasting is responsible for the final daily quality control of our Ad Revenue, which averages 2.5 to 3 billion dollars per year for FOX. You will oversee all issues and errors of ads daily and perform quality control tasks on strict daily timelines (hours to minutes before broadcast). You will direct a large team of engineers on priority tasks to meet daily deadlines. You will assist in Direct Live FOX shows and will coordinate the timing and airing of all elements, including commercials and promos, during live shows, as well as coordinating timing between shows. You will work closely with the Assistant Director and Director of Live shows for exact timings to the second. You will need to communicate with multiple departments to explain issues and provide fixes and timelines for remediation, ensuring all elements (program, commercial, and promo) are assembled and ready for air seven days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Quality control over On-Air Programming
  • Coordinate all aspects of live programming, including directing live shows from the broadcast center
  • Oversee transitions between day parts (e.g., Sports to Prime)
  • Create schedules to send to affiliates and book captioning for all sporting events
  • Provide coverage for the Program Services Coordinator, managing deliveries and show information
  • Move commercials to avoid conflicts between advertisers
  • Identify and escalate technical issues with shows, commercials, or promos
  • Monitor world events to ensure sensitivity to current events

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in cable or broadcast operations
  • Experience with live television shows
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with email, internet, word processing, and Excel
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work any day of the week, including weekends

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $25.75-28.37 per hour. This role is eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
