Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer
Location: Hunt Valley, MD — Pay From: $40.00 per hour
Must
- Experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Radio Frequency Engineering (preferably at the circuit board level)
- Hands-on experience with RF measurement tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters
- Familiarity with RF simulation tools, programming languages, and testing software
- Strong understanding of RF principles, signal propagation, and antenna theory
- Ability to document test plans, interpret complex results, and communicate findings clearly
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with teams
- Relevant certifications are a plus but not required
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field is highly preferred
Duties
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans for RF components and systems, such as antennas, filters, and transceivers
- Perform hands-on testing using specialized RF equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
- Measure and analyze key RF performance parameters like gain, return loss, and signal-to-noise ratio
- Develop and implement automated test scripts and procedures to improve efficiency
- Design and maintain test fixtures, jigs, and setups to ensure signal integrity and measurement accuracy
- Analyze test data to identify trends, pinpoint failures, and determine the root cause of performance issues
- Debug EMI/EMC problems and optimize signal integrity in RF assemblies and systems
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to provide feedback and resolve technical concerns
- Generate detailed test reports, summarizing methodologies, results, and recommendations for product improvement
- Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, procedures, results, and equipment calibration
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized RF test equipment to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements
- Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements
