Overview
Senior Radio Frequency/High Power Microwave Engineer (Job ID:3935) – Valkyrie Enterprises, Huntsville, AL. Contingent upon contract funding.
Responsibilities
- Perform critical analysis of technical data packages including SRR/SFR/PDR/CDR presentations, HPM acceptance test planning/results, HPM lethality analysis, and HPM risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide recommendation on emplacement of HPM system to maximize lethality while limiting impact to equipment.
- Interface with Naval Surface Warfare Division-Dahlgren HPM SMEs to provide leadership with recommendations on a wide range of efforts being conducted.
- Perform all source analysis to acquire required technical specifications.
- Provide professional engineering advice, guidance and assistance in various stages of research, development and deployment.
- Formulate/estimate technical parameters that are not available from all source analysis.
- Support preparation of risk assessment reports, safety assessment reports, and technical data packages and presentation materials.
Qualifications
- Must have experience evaluating, coordinating, and risk mitigations with RF/HPM systems.
- Must have an advanced degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field and a minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Must be able to effectively work within a multi-disciplined team, including program management and technical/engineering personnel, preferred.
- Experience with wide range of sensors (EO/IR, Radar, etc.), preferred.
- Experience with non-kinetic effectors (Lasers, EW, etc.), preferred.
- Day-to-Day work requires the development of detailed schedules and processes, preferred.
- Understand system engineering processes, preferred.
- Strong oral and written communications skills, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), preferred.
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor in working with senior Army leadership, preferred.
Security Requirements
- Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional Travel - less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials (e.g., REAL ID).
Physical Requirements
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
