Overview

You will join a tight-knit, high-performing three-person UI team known for its speed, reliability, and thoughtful execution. Together for over 8 years, the team excels at delivering scoped improvements and deeply understands the platform’s internals.

As we evolve the IDE to support GenAI-powered agents and undergo a broader transformation, we are seeking a senior UI engineer who can:

• Bring fresh ideas and modern front-end best practices
• Improve testability, performance, and long-term maintainability
• Collaborate closely with our UX designer, product manager, and CTO
• Help guide the modernization while preserving the platform’s proven strengths

What You Will Do

• Extend and evolve our custom-built IDE for creating distributed, real-time applications
• Help redesign UI structure and interaction patterns that support:
• Conversational, multi-threaded GenAI interactions
• Multi-agent systems, agent-driven UIs, and semantic workflows
• A robust, testable architecture for declarative agents and orchestration flows
• Introduce modern UI frameworks or patterns where appropriate
• Modernize diagram layout and interaction — supporting system design, event orchestration, and GenAI-driven workflows
• Partner with the runtime team to ensure accurate, real-time system representation

Requirements

• Experience building and maintaining web-based developer tools, IDEs, or domain-specific model editors
• Familiarity with designing and evolving component libraries and UI frameworks
• Strong focus on usability, testability, and sustainable front-end architecture
• Comfortable working with backend REST APIs, schemas, and system models
• Ability to collaborate within a mature, cohesive team
• Reputation for clear communication and a problem-solving mindset

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with event-driven systems, agent architectures, or visual programming tools
• Experience with stateful UIs — including node-link diagrams, semantic editors, or threaded conversational flows
• Exposure to GenAI, LLM integration, or interactive assistants in UI
• Experience maintaining native and hybrid applications for iOS and Android
• Knowledge of accessibility, internationalization, or adaptive interface design
• Exposure to Cypress or similar UI test frameworks
• Collaborate with a seasoned team building a uniquely powerful development platform
• Contribute meaningfully to long-term product evolution and design direction
• Work in a culture that values depth, focus, and pragmatic innovation
