Business Intelligence and Visual Insights Analyst (Finance)
This role places equal emphasis on deep business understanding of the insurance life-cycle, data and systems, exemplary BI and visual insights development/delivery, and exceptional client, project, and stakeholder management skills. The Analyst, BI must have excellent data analysis skills and transform analytical insights into clear requirements for varying stakeholders. They should have a strong understanding of developing and working with business KPIs and data models, and be comfortable with ambiguity while delivering high-quality products given competing priorities. They should be able to present to user audiences. Reporting: The role will report to the VP, Business Intelligence and Visual Insights.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including business unit leaders, finance, IT, and data management, to understand business requirements and develop data-driven insights to support decision making.
- Develop and prioritize stories for data- or visual-analytics solutions to support multiple constituents, ranging from executives to underwriters.
- Design visual wireframes based on business outcomes and KPIs.
- Adopt and champion standards for high-quality, easily consumable visualizations.
- Analyze, develop, and maintain Data and Reporting Applications in collaboration with data engineers.
- Understand, develop, and adhere to data quality, data governance, and data security protocols.
- Lead end-to-end testing, validation and approval of KPIs, wireframes, and delivery of final dashboards in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Provide ad-hoc analyses by querying cloud data warehouses using SQL and data analysis tools.
- Develop and facilitate training for users in dashboard usage and adoption, data wrangling and visualization techniques.
- Support deployment, production fixes, monthly and quarterly closing activities relating to business intelligence applications.

- Requirements: Excellent data analysis skills; ability to rapidly transform analytical insights into clear requirements; strong understanding of KPIs and data models; comfort with ambiguity; ability to present to user audiences; experience with SQL and cloud data warehouses; capability to work with BI and visualization tools.
