Essential Functions
- Under general direction, serves as a Web Developer for DoIT, supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP), performing web application development work in the Information Services/Applications Section.
- Performs design, construction, and maintenance of applications; interviews users on distributed- and web-based data processing needs; provides guidance and training to lower-level staff.
- Maintains, analyzes, recommends, and enhances procedures to improve supported systems; serves as a resource for users, technical staff, and ISP help desk.
- Keeps abreast of new IT developments through continuing education; performs other duties as required within scope.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completing four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or related field.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Web Services or related IT field.
Specialized Skills
- One (1) year of professional experience with web application and distributed system development.
- One (1) year of professional experience using Object-oriented programming languages to develop web applications.
- One (1) year of professional experience using .NET (framework and core), C#.NET, JQuery/JavaScript, and SQL Server.
- One (1) year of professional experience conducting feasibility studies for system conversions and enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications (In Order Of Significance)
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Ability to prepare testing plans, test scripts, and test data.
- Ability to analyze data, define problems, and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with agency officials, vendors, clients, and others.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to present technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
