Overview

Senior Technical Writer / Documentation Lead at Kizen. Work with Marketing, Product and Integration Engineering teams to plan and execute content for a technically oriented audience, pre- and post-sale. You will be the founding member of the documentation team, responsible for processes, strategy, and initial writing, with the opportunity to grow the team as impact and revenue from the developer community increase.

Location: Austin, TX | Manhattan, NYC | Hybrid (Minimum 4 days in office) | Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the application and how components interact.
  • Write and maintain high-quality technical documentation for the Kizen platform, including API use-case examples, developer guides, tutorials, integration guides, release notes, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Create marketing content for a technical audience, such as white papers, case studies, blog posts, website copy, data sheets, solution briefs, and content for presentations and webinars.
  • Manage and organize documentation within documentation platforms and content management systems.
  • Advance the overall content strategy for both technical documentation and technical marketing initiatives within sprint timelines.
  • Stay informed about platform updates, industry trends, and best practices in technical communication and content marketing for developers.
  • Assist with information architecture, content structure, and SEO for technical content as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in technical writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Marketing, Journalism, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Some coding experience (JavaScript, Python, Java, Ruby, or similar).
  • Proven experience writing marketing or promotional content for technical products or platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Startup-type drive and the ability to complete projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to understand developer workflows and document what developers need to know.
  • Driven, self-motivated, adaptable, empathetic, energetic, and detail-oriented personality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Development processes, SDKs, and build vs. buy considerations.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce and ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with iPaaS solutions such as Workato, Zapier, and MuleSoft.
  • Previous startup experience.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, AI, and AI-assisted technologies.
  • Experience with analytics tools to measure content performance.

Salary: The base salary range for this position is $140,000-$180,000. Base pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity and benefits. OTE: $170k-$225k.
