Join the Talent Management Engineering Team as a Principal Front-End UI Engineer

We’re seeking a Principal Front-End UI Engineer to help accelerate the delivery of impactful, associate-facing applications and experiences within the People Tech pillar of EBS.

In this role, you’ll lead the full software development lifecycle—from ideation and design to execution, delivery, and continuous iteration. As a technical leader, you’ll define and uphold engineering standards, champion process improvements, and drive engineering excellence across the team.

You will be at the forefront of designing and developing complex, scalable front-end features with a strong focus on reusability, maintainability, and long-term system health. Deep expertise in React for web and React Native for mobile platforms is essential. You’ll partner closely with product, UX, and business stakeholders to align on vision and outcomes, ensuring the solutions you build are extensible across multiple use cases.

You’ll also play a key role in exploring and integrating AI and Generative AI capabilities to enhance user experiences, drive personalization, and streamline front-end workflows. Whether surfacing intelligent insights or embedding GenAI-powered UI features, you will help define how emerging technologies elevate our products.

Equally important, you\'ll foster a collaborative and growth-minded culture by mentoring both senior and junior engineers, promoting shared learning across development, debugging, and operational best practices.

This role is NOT remote. This role is based out of Bentonville, AR. Relocation is mandatory if selected for this role.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze Requirements: Explore products/solutions to meet business/technical needs and assess gaps between expectations and existing solutions.
  • Classify Requirements: Categorize requirements into applicable types (e.g., Functional/Non-Functional) and anticipate solution risks/issues.
  • Design Solutions: Assist in designing solutions for specific components, evaluate trade-offs, and convert High-Level Design (HLD) into detailed design.
  • Code Development: Select appropriate coding frameworks, guide the team on coding standards, and create/configure/implement code to meet requirements.
  • Testing Implementation: Translate customer requirements into test strategies, determine testing tools, and ensure test cases cover all scenarios.
  • Program Monitoring: Monitor project progress against milestones, provide inputs on project plans, and ensure adherence to the CI/CD process.
  • Defect Management: Track and analyze defects, conduct regression testing, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
  • DevOps Maintenance: Perform complex maintenance procedures, monitor application performance, and evaluate change requests.
  • Leadership & Development: Drive execution of business plans, provide supervision and development opportunities for associates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area (3 years' experience in software engineering or related area).
