SoundCloud is looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to join our growing Creator team. As front-end engineers at SoundCloud, we build the user experience for beautifully designed, highly functional products and tools that music listeners and creators love. Key Responsibilities

  • Applying best engineering practices to design, develop, and maintain high-performance systems using React, TypeScript, NextJS and NodeJS
  • Improving the ecosystem that ensures artists can connect with their fans and help them get paid to support their passion
  • Mentoring junior and mid level engineers and will be a role model in promoting positive team culture
  • Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders including product leadership, music industry experts and engineering teams across SoundCloud
  • Becoming a domain expert in the music business through your desire to help artists grow their careers
  • Representing the team to the wider organization and communicating our data and tooling needs that would keep our systems lean and maintainable

Experience And Background

  • 12+ years of experience building high traffic, highly performant user experiences
  • You are self directed and collaborate well with Backend Engineers, Product Managers, Design and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • You are comfortable driving projects across teams from inception to completion with a strong sense of ownership
  • A history of shipping using React, NextJS, Typescript and NodeJS in production environments
  • Extensive experience automating end-to-end tests within CI pipelines
  • Experience working with various API solutions such as GraphQL, RESTful APIs and gRPC
  • Experience deploying and managing services in cloud environments, preferably AWS

The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $220,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
