Rocky Mountain Prep is a movement of educators, families, scholars, and advocates changing public education in Colorado by expanding college access and preparation for historically marginalized students. We are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students from infancy through high school.

Role Mission

At RMP, our elementary school teachers empower students with academic knowledge, social-emotional growth, and a love of learning. Build an inclusive classroom where students feel seen and heard, engage students through rigorous, joyful instruction, foster classroom discussions and collaboration, and support the community. This role transforms lives by giving students tools to achieve their big dreams and support our communities.

All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will

  • Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, maximize instructional time, reteach as needed, and promote growth and proficiency.
  • Take ownership of professional growth through regular coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Be consistently punctual and prepared for lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and professional obligations (PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc.).
  • Build a strong, inclusive classroom culture where scholars thrive through proactive routines, culturally responsive structures, and restorative practices.
  • Foster strong relationships with families through consistent communication, home visits, and engagement in school events.
  • Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, Kindness) in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, special education teachers, and support staff to deliver grade-level content and targeted interventions.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.
  • Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch.
  • RMP is fast-paced and data-driven and requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.

Elementary Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will

  • Inspire a love of learning: Plan and execute engaging lessons differentiated to meet scholars’ needs and interests.
  • Be a culture carrier: Create a safe environment where all students can thrive and learn together.
  • Bring the joy: Build a foundational love of learning so that learning feels enjoyable, even when it’s hard work.
  • Partner with families: Build strong relationships with families and involve them in their children’s education.
  • Be a teammate: Work with grade-level teams, special educators, interventionists, and specialists to support students and learn from peers.
  • Be a scholar of the Common Core Standards: Understand grade-level expectations and apply them to define rigor.
  • Teach data-informed lessons: Assess for mastery and adjust instruction to ensure student growth.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)

Other Requirements

  • Within the first year, complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
  • Preferred Certifications
  • We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: Full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Health insurance (medical, dental, vision), disability, life insurance, PERA retirement, and paid time off.
