Institution Description: The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). JHU offers master\'s degrees and post-baccalaureate programs online and at campuses in Baltimore, MD, and Washington, DC. AAP has approximately 18,000 enrollments each academic year and is committed to diversity and excellence in its academic community.

Position Description

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure track adjunct faculty to teach in the Digital Communication, Public and Media Relations, Corporate and Non-profit, Health Communication, and Political Communication concentrations. Instructors will teach online or on campus at our Hopkins-Bloomberg Center, located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. Candidates with experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in Communication or in a relevant field, such as Journalism and Media Studies
  • Professional and/or scholarly experience in Communication
  • One year of college-level teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in Communication or in a relevant field, such as Journalism and Media Studies
  • Background to teach a wide variety of courses in Communication
  • Ability to teach both on campus and online courses

Salary

Salary: $7,210

Job Type and Compensation Notes

Job Type: Part Time

The salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation varies by location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
