Position Summary

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring of associates; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; providing associate recognition; communicating expectations consistently and effectively promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.

What you\'ll do

  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identify and communicate goals and objectives; build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results; identify and address improvement opportunities; demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.
  • Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; tour stores and provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach); communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; introduce and lead company change efforts; provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions; and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model; manage and support customer service initiatives; ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies; provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high quality customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilize and support the Open Door Policy; provide direction on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements; assist in budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses; monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other benefits. Benefits include health, financial, paid time off, and other programs. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00 with potential bonuses and location-based variations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years\’ of college; OR 1 year\’s retail experience and 1 year\’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years\’ general work experience and 1 year\’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, the position may require successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, the position may require a current state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: regional pay zone (RPZ) based on location; complex structure based on external factors that create challenges.
